Server Upgrades!

Recently I decided that it was time to finally upgrade this web server. This website was first put up in 2018, after all, and a lot has changed since then. Besides the change from Ubuntu 16, released back in 2016, the original server was running Django 1.8. The most recent Django release nowadays is 5.1!

It feels pretty good to finally have this thing upgraded. It's been a point of stress for some time now, as I had been admittedly intimidated that tons of things would go wrong during the process. While I'd be lying if I were to say that it went without any snags, it was actually relatively painless with all things considered. It was incredibly helpful that Django has a pretty well documented deprecation timeline that I was able to reference along the way, so it ended up being mostly a matter of checking that documentation as issues came up.

Now that this is done, next up will be some updates to the website itself. I'll probably get that done in 2031 or so. ;)
